Katie has been in the industry since 2005, spending nearly 18 wonderful years at Guys & Dolls Casting as Head Booker until they closed their doors for good. She couldn't imagine a life and career outside of the industry so decided to 'go it alone' so here she is!
Katie has booked thousands and thousands of Supporting Artistes over the years and really enjoys putting a good, solid call together of top Artistes. She gets a lot of satisfaction from making a shoot run smoothly and will always go above and beyond for everyone she works with (that's production and artistes alike).
Katie has a great, experienced team with the same passion as herself and they're looking forward to exciting and busy times ahead.

Katie Lovie and I have worked together for the last 15 years. She always delivered every request asked for with a professional charm, she is trustworthy and reliable, my go to booker every time. Now as an HOP I will always guide the 2nd AD’s to work with her. Simply The Best!
Darren Green - Line Producer/Head of Production
Katie is fast, efficient and has attention to detail. I've worked with her for years casting SA's who are friendly on set, always punctual and very professional. She is very adaptable to my way of working and makes the whole process easier.
Thank you for being amazing Katie!
Stephanie Bradshaw - Crowd 2nd AD
Katie has always been the most enthusiastic and committed booker I've ever worked with. When people ask me for recommendations I always say "Katie is the only booker who seems to understand the roles and put forward the best people instead of just filling a role with anyone".
Danny Albury - 1st AD
Katie one of the most experienced and professional Agents I have ever worked with. She works tirelessly, and with such care, it’s like having another member of the production crew! She is excellent at finding creative solutions to every problem a project can throw at us and will always be the first agent I call in an emergency.
I look forward to working with Katie and the amazing
Camera Action Extras team as often as possible in the future.
Robin Samson - Crowd 2nd AD
How do I apply to work with you as a Supporting Artiste?
You'll need to create a free profile via the Entertainment Partners platform (formerly WeGotPOP): https://uk.epcastingportal.com/apply .
For new applications only: For the 'how did you hear about us' question at the bottom of the page, please select Camera Action Extras from the drop down list so we can see your profile straight away.
If you already have a profile on the main Entertainment Partners platform please email your ID number and name to hello@cameraactionextras.com and write 'Let's Work Together' in the subject. Our Admin Department deals with the Let's Work Together enquiries on a weekly basis so you will get a reply with 7 days.
How much will I earn?
The rates will vary job to job and will be specified on every job availability email you receive from us but will generally be the FAA rates which you can find here https://www.ep.com/uk-casting-community/rates/
Are there any fees to pay?
You are charged commission on all jobs booked through Camera Action Extras. The amount of commission will be detailed on all job emails you receive from us but is usually 10%.
Entertainment Partners charge a 10% fee on all bookings.
As these fees are for a service there is 20% VAT to be added, which goes directly to the government. Your accountant will inform you if you can claim anything back when doing your tax returns.
There are NO upfront / book /admin fees to pay (you shouldn't ever pay these sorts of fees upfront!).
How I do I update my contact details on my profile?
You do this directly through your EP/POP profile https://uk.epcastingportal.com/faq
It is very important to keep your EP profile up to date (that includes contact details, photos, measurements, skills, DBS etc) so you don't miss out on work.
Photos
Nearly all of the jobs we've been working on this year require a recent selfie when putting artistes forward for jobs. It's a great idea to get into the habit of uploading a selfie to your profile every other week so there's one already 'in stock' for when we send you availability requests. We're not asking artistes to upload photos because we love doing admin work and chasing people, it's because various departments refuse to cast from lookbooks with old photos. Even if your look does not generally change you should still upload photos regularly so our bookers can see you make an effort with your profile.
How do I upload my new photos to my profile?
You upload them straight to your main Entertainment Partners profile. It would be really useful to have full length or 3/4 length photos in a variety of different outfits so you fit the brief for as many roles as possible.
Your Main and Face photo slots will lock after your profile has been approved by Entertainment Partners. This is to ensure your profile has photos that meet the needs of casting agents and production, increasing your chances of being booked! If you would like to update these photos, please upload them to the photo slots Main - Update and Face - Update, then email ukartistsupport@ep.com to confirm. We recommend updating your photos every 3 - 6 months, depending on whether you have changed your appearance in that time.
Please refer to the EP upload guide to make sure any new uploads match community/industry standards.’
If I am booked on a job through you when will I get my briefing?
Your full briefing will usually be sent late afternoon the day before the shoot. We do not usually get the official call times before then. If your briefing is likely to be sent later than that your booker will send you a courtesy email with an update.
For briefings sent before 6pm we expect all artistes to confirm their briefings by 9pm. If for whatever reason you know you won't be able to confirm your briefing before 9pm please send your booker a courtesy email to make them aware.
When will I get my pay review (chit/salary voucher)?
If you feel you are due any additional payments please ask the crowd 2nd / 2nd AD / crowd 3rd when signing out, this avoids delays in invoicing and helps to get you paid faster. Your pay review will usually be sent within 24 hours after wrap. You then have 24 hours to either agree to or dispute. Any disputes will then be passed to the Assistant Director.
The shoot cannot be invoiced until everyone has approved their pay review. (It is very important to get the reviews approved quickly otherwise there will be delays with invoicing which of course means a longer wait for you and your fellow artistes to receive payments).
How do I contact you?
All general enquiries should be sent to hello@cameraactionextras.com . If you have an issue relating to a booking, please phone the mobile number provided on your briefing. The mobile number is for emergencies only, no general enquires will be dealt with over the phone.
Cancelling Jobs and No Shows
If you accept a job from us and then cancel, it makes us look very unprofessional as the production company will already have your details. Making late changes to jobs upsets the smooth running of a production and gives us and them stress and can lead to Agents losing work. If you are booked for a job and then cancel it, the stats will be updated on your profile and will be available for all agents on the EP platform to see, which may result in your bookings drying up.
Problems Relating to a Booking
If you have problems attending a job you are booked for please email your booker straightaway. You can also reply to your booking confirmation email. Please leave as much time as possible for us to make alternative arrangements if necessary.
If it's the evening before your job and it's outside of office hours please phone your booker, you will find the mobile number on your briefing.
If you have any serious problems whilst on set please call us, you will find our number on your briefing.
Any minor issues should be emailed to team@cameraactionextras.com .
On Set Etiquette
Film sets are busy places; filming involves complex logistics, security, long days, hanging around and sometimes stress. You can help by being easy to work with! There can be a lot of hanging around as it takes time to set up new shots. Remember, when the Director and crew are ready to shoot they will wish to do so immediately (so please do not wander off as you could be needed at any time). If you are a person who cannot handle waiting around for long periods of time then this business is unfortunately, not for you.
Whether in a rehearsal or filming, remain alert as a particular sequence may be filmed a number of times from different angles. For this reason, remember to return promptly to your first position and do exactly what you have been asked to do, give 100% effort.
Do not over-act (easier said than done), seek excessive direction or try to demonstrate that you know how to do the Director's job (that will definitely not go down well!). Please remember, you are a Supporting Artiste in the background, not the lead Actor.
Also, keep noise to a minimum unless otherwise instructed.
Do not ask for autographs or engage in conversation with cast unless they speak to you first (they are working and need to focus on the task in hand).
Do not leave the set without being released by a member of the production team, this is to ensure you will be paid correctly.
Mobile phones are strictly prohibited on set. Absolutely no photos of cast, the set or anything else should be posted on social media, otherwise you may find yourself caught up in a lawsuit.
Union
We always recommend artistes should be members of BECTU/FAA as they do important work to protect the interests of SAs. Members will enjoy expert advice and support, money saving offers and many other benefits. You can sign up at www.bectu.org.uk/get-involved/background-artistes.
Are you looking for Supporting Artistes (Extras) for your next production?
Send us a message, and we will get back to you soon.
